Position Description

The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Clinical Social Worker (CSW) II to be located in Las Vegas, NV at PRTF Oasis. This position actively participates on a multidisciplinary team providing clinical care and treatment to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24 hour/7 day a week Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF). PRTF Oasis serves children between 6-17 years of age. Youth served are designated as Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) and have experienced multiple failed placements. Youth placed exhibit significant behavioral challenges including physical and verbal aggression, non-compliance, challenges to authority figures, school problems (academic and behavioral), peer and social difficulties, and family issues.

CSW provides individual, family, and group therapy utilizing evidence-based treatment practices and complete assessments, person-centered treatment plans, and Prior Authorization for services. In addition, CSW II act as the Primary Behavioral Health Provider for assigned youth and coordinates Child and Family Team meetings, referrals, discharge planning, and overall youth clinical needs. They discuss youths’ treatment at interdisciplinary staffing, integrate and analyze information from all available sources, document quality of care, ensure information is available to other members of the treatment team by completing required forms and report and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with established laws, regulations, policies, and standards of care. The CSW II will need to be familiar with the behavior modification model used in the treatment facility and work collaboratively with treatment home staff and nurses to meet youth needs. Clinical experience with children and/or adolescents is preferred. This position will require clinical licensure or LCSW.

CSWs agree to work a variable work schedule in order to accommodate the needs of the youth and families to be seen outside of school/work hours. This position works four 10-hour days Tuesday-Friday, or 8-hour days Monday-Friday with evening hours and a rotating after hours on-call crisis intervention schedule.


Minimum Qualifications

Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.

  • Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
