About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer to join our team. As a Cloud Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with Engineering, Product and Customer Experience teams to develop, maintain, and support OpenDrives cloud infrastructure. You will play a critical role in contributing tools, processes, and documentation to enhance our cloud infrastructure, and assist in the design and implementation of OpenDrives cloud solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop tools for deploying cloud instances of OpenDrives software
  • Develop and assure compliance to security best practices in cloud environments
  • Assist in the design and implementation of cloud-native and cloud-hybrid software systems
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues stemming from cloud infrastructure
  • Perform cost and efficiency analysis of cloud solutions
  • Work with customer support teams to help resolve user experience issues for OpenDrives cloud customers

Competencies and Skills:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following.

  • Proficiency in computer scripting languages, such as Python or Bash
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code methodologies like Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible
  • Proficiency in cloud security and monitoring best practices
  • Experience with application orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, Rancher or Docker Swarm
  • Excellent technical communication and documentation skills for technical audiences
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully to audiences varying in expertise and authority
  • Ability to work collaboratively, resolve conflict and maintain adaptability
  • Excellent time and project management skills

Education and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of related experience and/or training, Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or higher preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in configuring and managing environments in at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience writing IAAC, Terraform and Cloudformation preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with containerized application deployment strategies and tools, Kubernetes preferred

Pay Scale Disclaimer

The hiring base salary range for this role is an a$125,000.00- $165,000.00 USD annually.
