Position Description

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Quality Control and CMM Technician to ensure that components and assemblies produced in the tool shop meet all design and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate Zeiss, Brown & Sharp CMM
• Operate Faro Arm with Probing and Scanning Head
• Analyze CMM data and provide full statistical analysis for high volume production
• Support process capability studies using statistical process control
• Read and understand part drawings, process sheets, and all Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Work with operators, setup personnel, and programmers to help define and resolve quality issues
• Perform, assess, and debug gauge repeatability and reproducibility
• Perform first piece inspections and/or first run for production process proofing
• Perform daily calibration and verification of all CMM and supporting equipment

Requirements

• 1+ years of CMM experience or 2-3 years’ experience in a quality or inspection role.
• Ability to understand complex drawings and manufacturing processes
• Good understanding of GD&T
• Good understanding of PCdims, Zeiss or Polyworks
• Passionate about production and machining
• Strong work ethic
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Highly motivated
• Well organized and strong verbal communication skills
• Flexible, ability to work in a fast pace constantly changing environment with long hours and tight deadlines
• Independent
