Job Description

Labcorp is searching for a Corporate Compliance Officer to support its diagnostics business as a member of the Corporate Compliance Department. Labcorp's Corporate Compliance Department partners with the business team to advance the delivery of world-class services and innovation with integrity by promoting practices that comply with laws, regulations, and high ethical standards. The position will be based out of the company's Tampa, FL location, and will serve as the primary Corporate Compliance Officer supporting the Labcorp Diagnostic Southeast Division. Willing to consider remote candidates based in the East Coast, with a preference for candidates in FL, GA, AL, MS or TN. The Corporate Compliance Officer will be tasked with overseeing the Labcorp Business Practices Compliance Program and applying Labcorp's compliance policies in the Division.

The successful candidate will:

  • Build positive working relationships with and serve as a trusted advisor to senior management, operations, and sales employees in the Division by providing day-to-day compliance guidance on a broad range of clinical laboratory business arrangements;
  • Serve as a liaison between the Division and senior leaders in the Corporate Compliance Department on all compliance-related matters, ensuring appropriate communication and reporting of the operation and progress of compliance program efforts;
  • Respond to, investigate, and appropriately resolve potential compliance program violations and other concerns, including those arising from governmental inquiries, third-party payor audits, and/or compliance action line reports;
  • Implement and follow up on compliance training programs for new and existing employees to ensure a thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and Labcorp compliance policies;
  • Monitor and keep abreast of state/federal laws and regulations that apply to and impact Labcorp's business operations, particularly those in the Division;
  • Assist with conducting internal compliance program audits in the Division, and implement corrective actions and drive processes in response to such audits, as appropriate;
  • Lead compliance-related due diligence and integration for acquisitions in the Division; and
  • Collaborate with other Corporate Compliance Officers and Attorneys on Departmental projects and strategic initiatives that span across the diagnostics business.
  • Requires 5 to 25% travel depending on business needs.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in a health care or corporate compliance role
  • Experience and expertise with implementing a compliance program, including drafting and implementing compliance policies, training, auditing, monitoring, and conducting investigations
  • Team player with excellent judgment and high integrity
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to express complex information to business leaders in a clear and concise manner
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry best practices that affect health care providers and, in particular, clinical laboratories
  • Capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters with minimal guidance
  • Demonstrable experience taking ownership of issues and providing practical advice
  • Ability to prioritize and undertake mission critical tasks in a fast-paced environment
