KCDA has an exciting opportunity to work as a Court Part Support Clerk in its Case Management Services (CMS) Unit.

The Office’s Case Management Services Unit (CMS) provides essential support to the Office’s legal practice, ensuring the collection, entry, and auditing of complete, timely, and high-quality data from court proceedings and other sources. CMS data is relied upon by assigned prosecutors preparing their cases, prosecutors appearing in court, and supervisors throughout the Office and supports the Office’s reporting, analysis, and transparency initiatives, and its staff are a critical part of the Office’s mission to keeping Brooklyn safe while building community trust by ensuring fundamental fairness in the criminal justice system. In this position, the Court Part Support Clerk is responsible for in-court support and clerical support to KCDA’s Case Management Services Unit.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide central support for the Office’s uniform court/calendar note system.
  • Batch print court notes and bring to various courtrooms.
  • Retrieve, route, and deliver files and other documents as needed.
  • Run reports and notify supervisors of any missing court notes.
  • Perform future calendar number entry by using various sources of information.
  • Research and obtain additional information for incomplete records.
  • Provide support to Case Management Services Unit as needed.
  • As directed, perform data entry, clerical, and related tasks necessary to ensure efficient operation of Case Management Services Unit.
  • Respond to queries for information and update relevant records when required.
  • Perform related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Provide coverage for other Court Part Support Clerks as needed.

Minimum Qual Requirements

1. There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position. However, the ability to understand and carry out simple instructions is required.
2. Candidates must be able to understand and be understood in English.

  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, highly organized and must possess a very high concern for data accuracy.
  • Must be able to work part as a team.
  • Possess strong communication skills with an ability to interact with all levels of staff.

Additional Information

Candidates must meet the additional requirements:
  • Previous clerical experience required
  • Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
