Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist

SITE OF SERVICE:

  • Veteran Affairs Health Care System – Palo Alto, CA Area
  • Full Time

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree: Certificate of Completion of Technologist training program accredited by an institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and the JCERT.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience and a minimum of one (1) year of general radiology experience in their respective sub-specialties in a level 1 hospital setting, proven clinical work experience within the past 12 months. DRTs must have experience with Philips & Ziehm C-arms radiology equipment within the past 24 months.
  • Certification: Computed Tomography (CT) by: Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS).
  • Additional Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) hands on course through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • U.S. Citizenship: Must be current U.S. Citizen
  • English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
  • Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.


HOURS:

Various tours of duty which may include day, evening, nights, weekends, holidays and on-calls. Coverage at various outpatient VA clinics is also required, as needed. Management reserves the right to determine and/or change the tour of duty. lunch is a 30-minute break. Forty hours per week

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team-work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
