Job Summary
The
Director,
Talent Acquisition provides strategic and operational leadership for the talent acquisition team and acts as a strong role model, motivating for growth while driving a high level of performance based on metrics, analytics and hiring feedback from retail stores, distribution centers and the corporate office. This role will be highly transformational, reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources & Corporate Communication.
This position requires strong leadership, problem solving, strategic thinking, team building, influencing skills and thought leadership in talent acquisition.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the Talent Acquisition function and effectively build, oversee and deliver talent acquisition programs and initiatives
- Coach and develop the talent acquisition team covering all recruiting, including salary, hourly high volume recruiting in WinCo’s supermarkets, distribution centers and the corporate office to meet hiring goals and objectives
- Manage selection and strategic relationships with external vendors and resources where needed
- Stay abreast of emerging talent acquisition technology, employment value propositions and make recommendations for changes and enhancements
- Develop and implement innovative candidate sourcing strategies that include networking on and offline, identifying viable passive candidates, leveraging colleague referrals, attracting a diverse range of candidates, leveraging recruiting events, and utilizing social media tools and other technology resources
- Develop strategic TA plan for the sourcing, talent pipelines, recruiting strategy and process, and candidate care
- Champion consistency and a strong client and customer service orientation to ensure value-add client support
- Receive, manage, and satisfactorily resolve escalations and apply lessons learned across organization
- Partner closely with human resource peer leaders, Field HR and retail operations leadership to consistently improve and enhance systems and process
- Partner with business teams to build and maintain a “footprint” for recruiting that is consistent throughout the organization
- Analyze function-level metrics to communicate progress toward goals, identify problem areas, and develop action plans
- Ensure compliance with the company’s policies and processes, and evaluate potential risks and liabilities
- Continually evaluate and analyze the effectiveness of WinCo’s talent acquisition programs, procedures and initiatives to ensure they support the Company’s strategic business objectives and serve our diverse employee owner population across the organizatio

Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Or 7 years of experience in talent acquisition
Experience:
- Proven track record of success in the design and execution of talent acquisition programs
- Retail industry experience desirable but not necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to work with executive stakeholders and take a proactive approach to business challenges.
- A very open and transparent communication style, along with the ability to constructively give and receive feedback while maintaining positive relationships and maintaining the self-esteem of others. Should be open to dialogue and receptive to other ideas while still able to communicate your own point of view and push back as necessary to lead to effective outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills, financial aptitude, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time and to work effectively with other functions to ensure deadlines are met.
