POSITION PURPOSE:
Transport and clean cooking utensils and service ware in order to provide cooks, bussers and food servers with the appropriate equipment for guests’ dining experience. Also requires cleaning of physical surroundings.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCITONS:
1. Promptly and carefully sort soiled silverware so that it can be put through the dish machine properly. Quickly wash all ware and replace in appropriate storage areas. Physical strength and stamina are essential to this position due to the high activity level.
2. Keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per hotel standards. This includes disassembling the dish machine to ensure proper cleaning.
3. Pre-scrape and pre-rinse items prior to running them through the dish machine.
4. Keep dish area organized (i.e. sorting dishes/silverware to keep a functional dish area)
5. Clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots and pan promptly and completely so cooks can carry out their work.
6. Must sweep, mop and take out trash during and after shift.
7. Sort glasses and stack in glass room.
8. Set up and break down the food items in the employee cafeteria. Keep stocked with appropriate food, silverware, plates, cups, condiments, etc. Check soda and carbonation tanks. Fill soda machine with ice.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions.
· Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards.
· Keep floors dry and clean to avoid slip/fall accidents.
· Performs other duties as requested, such as, cross-training, moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc.
· Report any suspicious persons or activity to a supervisor immediately.
Other:
Upon employment, all employees are required to comply with the standards, rules and regulations which may be established by LHM and may be updated from time to time. Employees who violate Hotel rules or have irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Employees may also be required to attend mandatory group and/or department meetings in addition to the scheduled work shift as necessary.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
· Knowledge of serviceware and how to maintain same in order to compliment guest experience.
· Ability to push/pull service carts weighing up to 500 pounds.
· Ability to read and understand the English language so as to fully comprehend job requests, caution notices and similar written materials.
· Ability to transport heavy objects through a crowded room.
· Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing up to 150 pounds.
· Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
