LOCATION The position is based at DrinkPAK's headquarters in Santa Clarita, California.
TEAM The Electrician – Controls/Manufacturing will report to the Director of Maintenance and Engineering.
POSITION The Electrician – Controls/Manufacturing is responsible for ensuring the proper function and maintenance of the manufacturing equipment with a focus on safety, continuous improvement and quality all while ensuring minimal downtime.
TYPE Full Time; Hourly / Non-Exempt
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain machinery, meeting maintenance requirements for 480-volt, 3-phase systems including single phase 120-volt systems and larger 4,160-volt equipment to minimize downtime
- Support, troubleshoot, improve, and maintain high-speed production and packaging machinery
- Responsible for maintaining and programming programmable logic controllers (PLC) and computer process controls
- Effectively and safely operate and maintain manufacturing equipment with a focus on plant safety, 5S, quality, production, and cost goals
- Perform quality, maintenance and housekeeping checks while managing the technical process
- Work as part of a team to read and interpret information, monitor equipment, and inspect product to maintain quality standards
- Follow safe work practices and maintain a solid understanding of GMP’s and emergency procedures. Complete assigned work efficiently and per company processes and standards
- Create and report repairs throughout shift. Complete required work order paperwork and document parts and material usage
- Understand and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation
- Makes recommendations to continuously improve policies, methods, procedures, and/or products
- Personal Protective Equipment is to be used, where required
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job to ensure equipment and facility uptime

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent industrial electrician work experience a plus
- Minimum of 3 years' experience programming and troubleshooting PLC's and troubleshooting AC variable speed drives
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments
- Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes (six sigma analysis) and propose and implement corrective actions
- Knowledge of servos and related controllers including hydraulic and pneumatic temperature controls
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Application of high-level quality standards
- Excellent computer skills
- Demonstrates adaptability by reacting appropriately to unexpected changes in situations or circumstances
- Safety, continuous improvement and solutions driven mindset
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus
