Salary Range: $19.51 - $29.27

Position Summary
Perform paraprofessional work in support of engineering or project management activities. This position, under direct supervision, is responsible for gathering and collecting technical data; surveying; conducting field work; reviewing construction plans for codes and regulations; providing information to developers; and collecting monies.

Essential Functions
Perform plat reviews, which includes: receiving and reviewing for sign-off of final subdivision plats after confirming compliance with applicable ordinances and statutes; enters related information into databases; receives, files, and maintains recorded plats
Manage bond systems which includes: conducting quantity take-off costs for infrastructure improvements; wording bond documents; compiling data and entering into databases; filing and maintaining bonds; tracking bonds and their expiration dates; coordinating bond reductions and expirations; and/or, performing other related activities
Provide support for land development plans, which includes: receiving and facilitating plans submitted for review; receiving and stamping plans; forwarding plans to designated departments; distributing approved plans; processing plan progress; calculating review fees; and/or, performing other related activities
Provide front office support, which includes: answering telephones and providing information to callers; filing; transporting plans to other offices; and/or, performing other related activities
Maintain the County state road maintenance request system, which includes: obtaining final sheets from inspectors; filling out maintenance applications; producing maps of streets; typing request letters; obtaining appropriate signatures; forwarding information to the State; and/or, performing other related activities
As applicable, provide front office support, which may include: answering telephones and providing information to callers; periodically staffing service points that require in-person interactions with customers or staff; and/or, performing other related activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in the area of assignment

Education:
Associate's degree in Engineering, Construction, or Surveying
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: Yes

Licenses and Certifications
May require a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
May require County Driving Privileges
Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required, depending upon the area of assignment.
