The Opportunity:

Your role at Sephora...
As the Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager you will be responsible to establish and lead the strategic direction of EHS throughout Sephora’s Distribution Center network and work in partnership with Operation Leaders to build a safety culture in which safety is owned by all employees. The Senior Manager will deliver EHS programs, policies, SOPs, etc. and ensure compliance amongst warehouse locations. This individual will be tasked to identify hazards, and operational risks, and work with DC leaders to eliminate such risks while engaging employees. This role will work closely with Sephora’s Risk Management and Loss Prevention teams on property liability and insurance programs and with local and HQ Human Resource teams on workers’ compensation claims management. Success in this role is measured by the ability to lead and drive an EHS culture at all organizational levels through collaboration, influence, and coaching to achieve established safety goals and metrics.


Essential Functions of Job:

  • Establishes the Distribution Center’s Environmental Health & Safety Strategy, including key indices across the networks
  • Ensures DC strategy is aligned with Sephora’s Global Strategy
  • Serves as the DC’s subject matter expert regarding EHS requirements in accordance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements
  • Manages Sephora’s EHS programs and related initiatives
  • Leads projects to reduce risks and ensure a safe and healthful working environment for associates
  • Works closely with DC leadership to ensure consistent communication for incidents and best practice sharing
  • Measures EHS performance against Sephora and regulatory requirements. Identifies areas of opportunities and works with DCs to develop corrective action plans
  • Reviews incident and contributing factor trends to identify areas for improvement
  • Performs on-site audits and inspections as needed
  • Works with DC teams to mitigate and close gaps identified during inspections, site visits, etc.
  • Provides oversight of environmental recordkeeping and reporting (Tier II, RCRA, etc.)
  • Develops or works with external vendors to create and deploy employee health and safety training programs and ensures all employees are knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each EHS program
  • Provides support for capital projects related to EHS
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting of required regulatory submissions (permit reports, OSHA 300 injury/illness data, etc.)
  • Provides direction and has oversight of DC Safety Committees
  • Manager must have an office at one of the five distribution centers and be willing to work a flex schedule to engage with leaders on various shifts including weekends
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with people at all levels

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, health, safety, or related field
  • Safety certification (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.)
  • Minimum of 7 years in EHS with multi-site experience
  • 5+ years of increasing responsibility
  • Must be able to travel at least 30% of the time


Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing or warehousing EHS experience
  • Experience managing workers’ compensation claims
  • Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization
  • Experience participating in internal and external audits
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
