JOB SUMMARY:
To power bend or hand bend a wide variety of sizes and shapes of tubes and/or perform cutting,
deburring, flaring, and pressure testing of hoses and tubes. May be required to work with higher grade
operators while in training.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The operations consist of planning and performing tube bending operations on NC tube bending equipment or manually operated tube bending equipment.
- Requires the ability to duplicate tube patterns, plan equipment set ups, make adjustments and check parts.
- Sets up, adjusts and operates NC tube bending equipment or any type of hand operated tube bending equipment to bend any type and size tubing up to 5/8 inches into various straight and compound angles.
- Performs flaring, deburring, end sizing and other operations incidental to producing desired bends. Installs a variety of end fittings.
- Records developed measurement and angles used in obtaining desired patterns for future reference.
- Uses tools and equipment such as wrenches, hose threading machines, hose tapping machines, table saws, drill motors, and pressure testing equipment.
- Checks all cure dates on hoses and the inside and outside diameters to determine if hoses meet requirements. Visually inspects hoses and assemble during each step of assemble to ensure Textron Aviation standards.
- Responsible for own work and the quality of own work.
- Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification.
EXPERIENCE:
No experience required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typical machine shop working conditions, some exposure to noise, oil and solvents.
