Global Brand Imaging (GBI), the newest creative team within Nike’s Global Brand Experience division, creates compelling product imagery that elevates the Nike brand vision. As part of our evolution, GBI is seeking Freelance Styling Assistants to support daily studio production output at its new global flagship photo studio in Los Angeles. The successful candidates are creatively-driven and a master of execution and process with exceptional organizational skills and product knowledge. You will be the right hand and part of the Styling team, supporting to produce visual assets to be featured in product detail pages (PDP) for the on-figure and product side of the studio. You will demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task a variety of projects with attention to detail. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are a supportive team player.
Responsibilities
Stylist Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
WHEN ON SET:
· Attend daily Stylist Assistant kick off directly after the production kick off at 8:45 AM.
· Prepare the rack for the day (de-tagging, steaming, grab necessary undergarments). Steaming is not an all-day task; garments are to be retouched as needed as looks flow on set.
· Review and relay all slate and iPad notes to the lead stylist, digitech and art director.
· Communicate with the stylist and digitech on what the hero item is. Pass off hero tags to the digitech. After hero is shot, retag the hero item and pass off to digitech to be added to the shot heroes/FCO rack.
· Check and match tags for heroes and props. Untagged/mis-tagged shoes are to be retagged by the assistant on set. All apparel props may be left on a hanger on the Needs Tags Rack in the closet.
· Put away shoes and props throughout the day. Check the iPad before putting props away to ensure it will no longer be needed for upcoming looks is recommended.
· Ensure models are dressed “set ready” according to the styled look in iPad and empty fitting rooms in between shots. Stylist will do final touches once the model is on set.
· Collect all socks, robes, slides, and jewelry used at the end of the day.
· Reset the bay for the following day: change boards, clean/re-fill styling cart, hang apparel, disperse shoes among 2 shoe racks.
· Return and charge iPad.
WHEN IN THE CLOSET:
· Attend daily Stylist Assistant kick off directly after the production kick off at 8:45 AM.
· Scan racks for the following day and use Atellio as a guide. Scanning includes counting heroes to make sure KPI is met, writing models and stylists names on the board and documenting the progress of the rack using the graph provided.
· Review and relay all slate notes for proper styling guidelines to Look Builder and Senior Stylist.
· Monitor and action on laundry daily and maintain cleanliness of apparel.
· Retagging merchandise with incorrect/no tags.
· Organize styling closet on a consistent basis (colorize, check categories/seasons, scan to location).
· Prop and shoot PDP/VIDEO/FOAM/PDP+ sets in a timely manner utilizing the styling ethos as a guide.
· Confirm iPads are properly paired with styled racks and all looks align, before moving them to set.
· Continuously check go back racks throughout the day and attentively put them away to correct area.
· Track merchandise in studio and partner with Pre-production and Logistics team when necessary.
