Job Description

Praetas Technologies is looking for an energized, committed, experienced and trustworthy Front Desk Retail IT Support Tech to join our staff and assist with Front Desk PC Intake, remote support, and in-office operations of our commercial and residential customers.

We are a versatile IT company that satisfies the many technological needs of our customers, which are comprised of mid-size businesses and high-end residential users.

Some of the in-shop, retail services we offer include:

  • Home and Business Help Desk and Concierge Support
  • New & Used PC and Mac Sales, and Repairs
  • Custom Build PC Design and Assembly
  • Peripheral Sales and Installation

We are looking to hire a well-rounded IT Support Tech who has experience in a multitude of environments, specifically in a retail environment, such as Best Buy's Geek Squad, or Office Depot and Staples' Tech Services. You should be comfortable talking with customers in-person and over the phone, and should be comfortable explaining technical information to untechnical people.

Applicant is expected to handle in-shop service and remote support. You must be self-motivated, self-sufficient, and EXPERIENCED, as well as work well with a team.

You must be good at communicating (including by phone and email), have the ability to schedule yourself for appointments, and follow-up when necessary.

You must be up-to-date on modern technology, including PC/Mac hardware (SSDs, RAM, GPUs, etc.), as well as their operating systems and settings.

You should consider yourself a people person who is sociable and friendly, and who is able to communicate technical information to non-technical people. You will be working one on one with customers in-person and remotely, and will be expected to communicate with professional standards.

We prefer applicant have least their A+ Certification, but this can be obtained within 90-days after hire, and additional certifications are encouraged. We expect applicants for this position have the ability to:

  • Spec and build custom PCs from scratch
  • Open and repair/replace components in Desktop and Laptop PCs, etc.
  • Diagnose hardware failures and software/OS error codes
  • Perform data recovery and hard drive / SSD cloning
  • Perform Virus removal and OS recovery (Windows, MacOS)
  • Understand Wired and wireless networking, printing & scanning troubleshooting
  • Setup and navigate iOS and Android devices
  • Create, configure & Manage Office 365 Business Email
  • Research problems and generate solutions efficiently
  • Experienced with Office 365 Applications and troubleshooting them

As well as familiarity with:

  • ConnectWise / ticketing systems
  • Microsoft Teams

Front Desk Retail IT Support Tech Applicant agrees to the following requirements:

  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm, and after hours and on weekends if necessary (we can offer flexible schedule)
  • Does not have a prior criminal record or excessive moving violations
  • Has an active Florida-issued Drivers License and auto insurance
  • Has reliable vehicle transportation to and from our office

This is a position requiring a certain expected level of experience and pay is commensurate with experience. Front Desk Retail IT Support Tech will start out with a 90-day evaluation period.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
