Important Details to Know:

  • Compensation: $48,000 - $70,000/year DOE
  • Shift/Hours: 40 hours per week

Here is what you will get to do:

  • Research and analyze prospective grant opportunities
  • Collect and assemble grant proposals and reports, ensuring timely submission of all required materials
  • Work with Scottsdale Arts staff in proposal development process, including budget, implementation, timeline, outcome objectives and project evaluation
  • Prepare, write and submit grant requests, applications and LOIs to identified foundations, corporate and federal funders
  • Ensure grant application and reporting in compliance with the rules and regulations of the grantor; provide support to special audits conducted by grantor
  • Monitor all phases of grant awards and closing, including assessment of technical progress and performance
  • Carry out stewardship activities to engage and retain new and existing grant funders including meeting with funders, attending funding panels, arranging and conducting program tours, funder recognition, gift processing, and impact reporting
  • Track and improve grant management processes to make them as efficient and effective as possible
  • Build a grant strategy and calendar to include ongoing donor communication, creation of benefits and recognition, corporate sponsorship opportunities, site visits and donor meetings
Requirements:

Here is what you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management or closely related field preferred, appropriate experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of three years of grant writing experience required, with previous development support preferred
  • Strong personal interest or background in philanthropy, performing and/or visual arts
  • Demonstration of strong writing and grammar skills
  • Detail oriented and good organizational skills
  • Deadline driven with good time management skills
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to independently manage priorities and deadlines?
  • Enthusiastic, dedicated, and adaptable team player
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office

Bonus if you possess the following:

  • Knowledge of local foundations and relationships with other fundraisers, government organizations, corporate, community and family foundations in the Phoenix metro area
