Director R&D Pipeline & Project Management

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Director R&D Pipeline & Project Management - (Allergy, Cough/Cold, Pain, Cardio) are to:

The R&D Director of Pipeline & Project Management will work closely with the ACCPC (Allergy, Cough/Cold, Pain & Cardio) leadership team to drive pipeline and project delivery for transformational, adjacent & core innovation with excellence. They will set the standard of strategic and tactical project leadership for the global pipeline and projects. They will lead the team of ACCPC global project leaders to deliver the innovation pipeline, including all Rx-to-OTC switch programs.

They are a key partner for GCT(s) and responsible for owning and operating the pipeline KPIs and ACCPC GCT stage and gate governance.

• A role model in leadership and excellence in Project Management to a team of Global Project Leaders, growing their capabilities to build a word class project management team;
• A working leader, providing both strategic and people leadership to a group of dedicated GPLs but also leads cross-functional teams on major program execution;
• Develops, implements and manages prioritization and governance mechanisms to allocate resources effectively;
• Takes responsibility for delivering the portfolio of projects on time;
• Leads the GPL team to drive timely decision making, stakeholder communication, adherence to project governance processes, contingency planning and issue resolution;
• Ensures plans & timelines are developed and maintained with integration of functional and local market plans & requirements (i.e. US I&I process);
• Responsible for pipeline resourcing, GCBU development budget and risk management;
• Ensure visible prioritization of projects and effective allocation of PM resource to enable pipeline delivery;
• Effectively integrates local pearls into pipeline delivery and prioritizes resources in alignment with Cat R&D Director;
• Runs the governance and operations of GCT pipeline prioritization and stage & gate management including strategic management & ownership of pipeline KPIs to meet business goals;
• Partners with Global Category Teams to ensure visibility of pipeline priorities and key regional priorities are resourced and supported;
• Provides project management and personal development leadership through training, mentoring, coaching and performance management of the team;
• Inspires a Culture of Innovation;
• Is a mentor and coach to the R&D organization.

Required Qualifications:

• A Proven track record in successfully leading a portfolio of projects in Consumer Health or related industries (FMCG, Pharma, F&B, etc) including pipeline KPI tracking and reporting;
• Demonstrates in depth understanding of CH business function, relationships & activities and project management best practice;
• Adaptable - Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast paced environment;
• Experience in continuous improvement of pipeline governance framework & implementing project management standards;
• Resourceful – Strong bias towards action, finds creative solutions and implements new methods;
• Connected – Robust internal and external network, able to get results through various partners without direct managerial control. Holds all functions to account;
• Communicator- excels at communication at all levels and is comfortable sharing data drive & objective views to support the best interest of the business.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or a PhD with 10+ years experience in a STEM or relevant business field is preferred;
• International education equivalency to Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD Degree is acceptable;
• Has led a team with strong examples of talent development, team leadership and delivering through others;
• Certification in Project Management (Prince II, PMP);
• Has experience leading digital and/or sustainability initiatives.
