Job Description

Objective
To supervise the Information Services department, to provide timely, accurate, prompt and professional services to our internal and external clients that meet their expectations. Ensure staff development and supervision of the Information Resources Center (IRC) and Knowledge Products (KP) operations, services and staff. Lead global initiatives / projects for regulations and industry standards monitoring, including the development of global process for leveraging monitoring resources or database project work in other regions. Drive the innovation of Knowledge Products, including digitization and/or automation of service offerings into the BV OneSource Regulations module and its evolution into Market Access services.
Major Roles & Responsibilities
  • Manage IRC / Knowledge Products and regulatory staff by providing training, direction, supervision and development. This includes the use of global resources to supplement the activities of the IRC/KP team.
  • Manage IRC / Knowledge Products physical and electronic collection, to preserve and improve the quality of the company’s information holdings as a global information resource.
  • Develop the direction, priorities, acquisition, organization and framework of the IRC / Knowledge Products, to provide information to users in all locations within the Consumer Products Services Division and to clients. Ensure effective scoping discussions with customers, project coordination and management for KP projects, and follow up support with customers for service feedback.
  • Plan, organize, and direct IRC / Knowledge Products operations including: control the use of financial and human resources; coordinate all library services; negotiate appropriate contracts and licenses; maintain statistics and appropriate records; develop and provide appropriate training programs; and provide policy direction, counsel and advice for information management.
  • Work with all locations and departments on information related projects in response to new departmental priorities/initiatives. Adapt IRC / Knowledge Products services and focus for continual alignment with organizational goals based on stakeholder feedback and direction.
  • Facilitate information and document delivery by planning, leading in the introduction of applicable technological innovations, including (but not limited to) implementation and management of the IRC’s electronic catalog accessible to and serving all locations, and corporate intranet systems.
  • Plan, implement and lead the BV CPS knowledge management activities by utilizing technology, creating and maintaining knowledge repositories, resolving cultural resistance, and coordinating internal and external information supply.
  • Recommends and implements ways to optimize costs, improve work methods, policies, productivity and effectiveness. Communicates and oversees BV CPS copyright compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technical & Information Services or related VPs.

  • Must be able to interact with both internal and external customers.
  • Required background in consumer products, ideally compliance assessment
  • Supervise the daily activities of assigned staff responsible for technical support from other teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, strong technical, business, management and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent ability to research, collect and synthesize information from various sources for use in technical and marketing functions and strategic planning.
  • Understanding of current information technology and content management tools and their role in advancing knowledge management and corporate communications.
  • Collaboration skills to work with various departments and locations. Interpersonal communication skills to work with employees to adopt cultural change and to persuade them to work together.
Experience and Educational Background Required for the Job
  • 4 year degree in related field required, MBA a plus
  • 7 years of industry related experience
