The Intern, Engineering supports Elevate’s programs by assisting one or more experienced engineers and various program teams across the organization as needed. The Intern, Engineering learns technical and engineering skills, shadows energy assessments, and performs tasks that support larger projects while experiencing the day-to-day workings of energy engineering. The position collaborates closely with other Elevate staff on projects related to improving building performance, advancing energy efficiency, and consulting on sustainability measures. Additional projects involve electrification, certifications, energy efficiency assessments and reporting, and the development of engineering tools.
The Intern, Engineering will report to the Senior Engineer. This position is based in Chicago, Illinois and is currently remote.
The selected candidate is expected to commit to 12 months for this role. Weekly hourly time commitment will be commensurate with candidate availability and discussed before the start date. The intern will work remotely but will be required to attend on-site fieldwork.
