This role will be part of the Fiduciary & Investment Risk Oversight ("FIRO") unit of Operational Risk. FIRO is accountable for establishing and overseeing execution of the enterprise-wide risk type coverage program designed to proactively and systematically identify, assess, measure, monitor, control and report on significant Fiduciary and Investment (F&I) risks to Wells Fargo and its customers. This includes client portfolio risk, model portfolio risk, fiduciary and investment related product risk, and associated liquidity risk. The primary business group currently in scope for this oversight program is Wealth & Investment Management. The position will report to the Investment Risk Director and will contribute to a strong, independent risk management function for F&I risk oversight within Wells Fargo. The successful candidate will possess strong quantitative and analytical skills consistent with roles and responsibilities of independent risk management in the Wells Fargo & Co. Risk Management Framework.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead or participate with relevant business groups to identify, assess, manage and mitigate current and emerging investment risk within Fiduciary and Investment Risk Oversight
  • Conduct deep analysis of investment products and processes to identify control gaps or deficiencies
  • Perform and research complex activities related to investment risk generated by common factor models, time series models, pricing and valuation models, parametric simulations, stress testing, scenario data, and liquidity models
  • Present recommendations for resolving efficiency of investment risk management
  • Collaborate and consult with management regarding daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual investment risk oversight reporting
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 2+ years of Investment Risk, applied Math, Statistics, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or Econometrics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in related field (Math, Statistics, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Econometrics or similar) preferred
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) preferred
  • Knowledge in the wealth management, financial advisory, and retail brokerage businesses, particularly in the areas of financial advisors' and wealth management's client engagement models, client risk profile assessment process, client investment objective assignment, various lifecycle investment methodologies, strategic asset allocation, cyclical and tactical asset allocation, client investment portfolio management, and investment risk management and performance measurement
  • Knowledge in data elements, data relationships and data structures related to financial advisors, investment managers, client investment portfolios, investment products and vehicles, and other related data
  • Hands-on skills and knowledge of investment tools and platforms such as Bloomberg, MSCI/Barra, BlackRock Aladdin, FactSet, Morningstar, and etc.
  • Passionate interest and curiosity in understanding financial markets with a strong quantitative orientation for investment and risk management; robust analytical and critical thinking capabilities
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
