Job Purpose


The Plant IT Lead position is responsible for maintaining and supporting the corporate network infrastructure, security, and users / privileges. These responsibilities include support for Windows servers, network infrastructure devices, data backups, personal computers / mobile devices, software and upgrades, and manufacturing equipment that connect to the IT network. The position is also responsible for monitoring and directing the day-to-day IT efforts that directly support the assigned plant, as well as communicating status to local plant management and corporate IT leadership. The ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere and be able to interface directly with the user community is critical.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide daily supervision of IT tasks
2. Monitor and support manufacturing plant floor IT equipment
3. Create and maintain network users, security and privileges.
4. Administer and support network server backups to ensure availability and recoverability of system resources.
5. Maintain / upgrade network infrastructure hardware and software.
6. Maintain and monitor network security applications / appliances to include endpoint; web security; spam filters; and desktop control.
7. Create, configure, and maintain Internet access to include firewall, usage monitoring and system security.
8. Support mobile devices, applications, and security.
9. Support planning and coordinate activities with other Enersys network personnel (local and remote) and third parties.
10. Monitor network hardware and software for errors and performance issues.
11. Provide second level support to IT helpdesk personnel.
12. Recommend and support development of department standards and procedures.
13. Support compliance, audit and documentation requirements.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
AS degree in Computer Science preferred or appropriate experience
Minimum 2-4 years experience in corporate IT, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Experience supervising other people, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Language Skills
Effective communication skills: Oral, written and listening

Reasoning Ability
Problem management / resolution skills; project management skills; generally accepted security principles

Computer Skills
Expert understanding of Microosft Windows end-points and desktop support. Knowledge of IP network design and troubleshooting. Must be familiar with Windows Server, VMWare and other hypervisors, backup and recovery, as well as cloud architecture. Must also be proficient in desktop business software such as Office, Teams, Visio. Must have knowledge of Active Directory, DNS and DHCP, etc.
