Job Description

We are an energetic, award-winning lighting design firm seeking a new team member for a full-time position as a Junior Lighting Designer. As a Junior Lighting Designer, you will assist teams of designers in the documentation of lighting solutions for commercial, hospitality, and high-end residential projects. Responsibilities

  • Writing and editing specifications.
  • Drafting including AutoCAD, Revit and sketch format.
  • Lighting detail and presentation development.
  • Assist with day-to-day project management.
  • Preparing cost estimates.
  • Assistance with procuring samples and preparing lighting mockups.
  • Interfacing with local sale representatives for lighting equipment.
  • Attend project meetings as required.
  • Lighting calculations.
  • Code compliancy coordination including lighting power density reports.
  • Filing project and office documents.
  • Update and maintain product library and sample room.
  • Maintaining project files.

Qualifications

  • An accredited professional degree within the design industry including architecture, lighting design, interior design – or work equivalent.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Fluency in MS Office and Adobe CS.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Great time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and English proficiency.
  • Desired skills: AGI 3.2 or comparable calculations software, 3D rendering software including Sketchup, 3D Max, Rhino, etc. and Bluebeam.
