Job Standards
The Lincoln Library is seeking an individual to manage, develop, and maintain traditional and cutting-edge technology and makerspace services for all ages. Oversee the Collaboratory and related services, classes, schedules, equipment, and interdepartmental team. Evaluate, recommend, and implement new library technology systems, equipment, initiatives, and programming. Maintain public computers, computer classroom, and associated technology such as scanning, faxing, photocopying and basic computer/software assistance, including working with vendors. Serve as administrator for library specific software. Work on a variety of high-level special projects and programming. Support all other departments with technology support and Information Systems Division staff as needed. This position requires a Master’s Degree in Library Science and substantial experience with both traditional and cutting-edge technology. Previous makerspace experience strongly preferred. Weekend and evening hours are required. Current employees (where applicable) and persons hired or rehired after 1-1-17 shall maintain their bona fide residence within the corporate limits of the City of Springfield during all periods of service. Newly hired or rehired employees have 12 months from date of hire to establish city residency.
