Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:

Administers nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. High school diploma and certification as a licensed practical nurse. Associates degree in Nursing preferred. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Applicants Job Requirements Include:

• Requires a vocational degree and is certified as a vocational nurse. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Required: Graduate of an accredited LVN program.
• Required: Licensed as a L.V.N. by the Texas State Board of Registered Nurse Examiners.
• Required: BLS, within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: One (1) year full time or three (3) years part time experience in acute care setting.
• Letter(s) of Recommendation are preferred for applicants with less than 1 year of applicable experience in nursing.
• Handle with Care (or obtained within six months of employment) in required specialty.
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
