Sawgrass Nutra Labs is hiring for a Encapsulation Machine Operator!

  • Title: Encapsulation Machine Operator
  • Location: Jacksonville, FL
  • Industry: Nutraceutical Contract Manufacturing
  • Hours: Monday-Friday; first 8 weeks of training 6a-2:30p, then preferably 8a-4:30p or later
  • Compensation: $20.00-$23.00/hr depending on experience

OVERVIEW

Sawgrass Nutra Labs is a locally owned vitamin and nutritional supplement manufacturer (no pharma/drugs) located on the southside of Jacksonville, near the intersection of J Turner Butler (FL-202) and Belfort Rd.

We are looking for a full-time Encapsulation Machine Operator to train under our Lead Encapsulation Machine Operator and learn all activities related to the encapsulation of the powdered food & vitamin product as per formula instructions. Our facility is 100% climate controlled (i.e. all A/C and very comfortable).

Responsibilities:
  • Machine set up, calibration, and quality control testing to ensure product is made to specifications
  • Optimizing machine operation to maximize output without compromising quality
  • Following all manufacturing SOPs based on cGMP and FDA protocols.
  • Maintaining continuous operation including filling powder and capsule shell hoppers
  • Inspecting completed capsules for any defects including visual blemishes or out of specification
  • weights
  • Documenting all aspects of production including batch output quantities
  • Breakdown, cleaning, and sanitizing all encapsulator machine parts after each production run
  • Maintaining clean and sanitary working environment
  • Working with Quality Control personnel to support independent quality control processes

Qualifications:
  • Experience with operating machinery, preferably in a production or manufacturing environment
  • No food allergies (some supplement products may contain nuts, eggs, etc.)
  • Attention to detail
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Communicate in English
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in climate controlled environment (65 to 70 degrees)
  • Mechanical or machinery skills (preferred but not required)
