Job Description
This post is responsible for keeping the CFC building, external structure, grounds, and associated installations and utilities functioning properly.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organizes and matches department reports.
- Utilizes basic carpentry, electrician, and HVAC skills for maintaining building structures.
- Employs electrical and mechanical capabilities for maintaining warehouse conveyor system.
- Carries out preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment.
- Troubleshoots electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems on warehouse equipment.
- Interprets machine and building diagrams.
- Fixes damaged property (warehouse floors, dock doors, lights, etc).
- Manages facility equipment files.
- Manages all material handling equipment including forklift and conveyor equipment.
- Assists in ensuring OSHA safety compliance.
- Takes part in work clean program.
- Supports the Safety Culture by following established SOP’s.
- Participates in the local Safety Culture through safety team support and offering safety suggestions.
- Helps department supervisors in identifying risk to associates or the business and mitigate those risks.
- Performs all duties within safety guidelines.
- Performs to specified productivity and quality expectations.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.
- Operates basic warehouse vehicles (i.e., electric pallet jack and/or forklift).
- Manages advanced warehouse vehicles (i.e., turret truck and/or order picker).
- Takes part in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Some maintenance background is preferred.
SKILLS:
- Understanding of carpentry techniques and practices required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Demonstrated knowledge in interpreting and reading hydraulics, electrical information and pneumatics.

Hearing, seeing (including depth perception and peripheral vision), ability of mental coordination. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required for position. Must be able to operate at heights up to 50 feet. Mentally alert for entire shift.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must obtain internal certification to drive warehouse vehicles within specified time requirements.
