SUMMARY:

The Facility Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for the basic maintenance repair and construction functions of the facility, such as plumbing, electrical, building construction and fabrication throughout the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: H.S. Diploma or equivalent

Related Experience:

A minimum of 1 to 3 years of full-time related experience as Maintenance Technician in a warehouse, distribution center or manufacturing environment. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted.

Must exhibit the ability to read, write, understand and speak English.

HOURS:

Typically, Monday through Friday, full-time work hours with possible flexible work patterns as designated by the Supervisor and/orManager. Availability before or after designated work hours and/or weekends may be required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of basic maintenance to include repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the facility.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, construction, forklift repair, power tools, preventative maintenance, heating and cooling, blueprint, automated packaging, and distribution equipment along with schematics.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all material handling equipment which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, and relays.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere, promoting positive work relationships with other team members, as well as internal and external customers.
  • Capacity to utilize effective time management skills and be able to work under the stress of multiple deadlines, requests from other departments, and interruptions with accuracy.
  • Ability to follow directions and communicate in English verbally and in writing and to read and understand materials printed in English.
  • Capacity to be self-motivated and achieve goals with minimal supervision or direction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies within the building such as: basic plumbing, electrical, patching, painting and other repairs and maintenance as needed to maintain property.
  • Adhere to all safety, OSHA guidelines, work rules and policies and focuses daily on housekeeping inside and outside of the facility.
  • Must be present in the workplace and demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule as determined by Manager.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  • General work area is indoors, in a smoke-free environment, climate-controlled warehouse environment with fluorescent lighting.
  • Workspace is shared with forklifts.
  • Exposure to noise, or equipment operation in work areas.
  • Infrequent exposure to cleaning and building materials.
