**This position is for Newnan and Fayetteville Offices **
Position Summary
The Exclusive Provider Medical Assistant will be responsible for routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. Additional responsibilities will include coordinating clinic patient flow, patient workups, exam room prep, performing basic patient care activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Follow assigned provider to scheduled locations (clinic & ASC as applicable)
Prepare charts for the next day (or couple of days)
Review patients HPI
Order referrals as needed
Prepare medical records release forms prior to the patient leaving the office, follow-up on requested documents in timely fashion to ensure they are received
Act as a liaison between nurse line and provider gathering information needed to complete patient calls
Obtain patient imaging prior to patient appointment when applicable
Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients
Perform general office duties as directed
Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies
Have great provider presentation and learn what the provider needs
Communicate with clinical operation manager and/or office managers on improvements that can be made
Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments or materials or performing such tasks as giving injections
Secure patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing Medication Reconciliation, and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential
Exercises safe patient handling
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent 3-5 years of experience preferred.
Possess an ability to function in a high stress, physically demanding setting
Knowledge of healthcare regulations and preventative measures (HIPAA confidentiality, infection spread, etc.)
Exemplary customer service experience including client relationships and job knowledge
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to exercise manual dexterity, control precision and arm-hand steadiness accurately
Ability to be empathetic with patients; ability to maintain confidentiality
Must be willing to travel as needed
