• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (linear algebra, random processes, detection and estimation, and coding theory).
• Strong background in wireless communications research preferably with information-theoretic background and coding theory.
• Deep-knowledge of communication system theory, forward-error correction (FEC), machine learning models for communications.
• Knowledge of cellular communication standards.
• Experience with Matlab/C, design flow, algorithm development, link-level simulation (floating-point and fixed-point).

• Design and simulate state-of-the-art physical layer wireless communication algorithms. • Conducting innovative design for next generation wireless systems with focus on baseband processing towards standardization/intellectual property development. • Implement system models and perform detailed performance investigations to allow performance sign-off and enable RTL development. • Designing baseband algorithms for cellular modems, with emphasis on channel coding, including emerging trends in machine learning • Collaborate with hardware digital designers and firmware developers to realize algorithms with power and area efficient implementation. • Conducting simulations in C/C++/MATLAB and optimizing algorithms for mobile devices. • Supporting commercialization and collaborating with other SW/HW engineers.

• At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,000 and $278,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
