  • This job is a member of the Ancillaries Product Team within the Information Technology Division.
  • Responsible for providing technical leadership for IT development personnel and be responsible for the technical design and implementation of software development of the web services and applications.
  • Key aspects which will differentiate this role are possessing working knowledge of latest industry best practices and trends within web services design, UI Frameworks, data frameworks and management, test automation, cloud frameworks, security practices and software optimization techniques.

What you'll do


  • Works with product management, business analysts, developers, testers, and architectural teams to define strategy and requirements
  • Builds tools and patterns to accelerate development and delivery
  • Develops and drives high-level strategic initiatives and secures commitment from external and internal teams for new initiatives
  • Collaborates with the architect to define the technical roadmap for the product to meet long term enterprise growth needs
  • Drives consensus on technical approach, sets timelines, and leads cross-functional application teams from design through delivery
  • Applies software engineering best industry practices to web applications and services
  • Provides technical guidance, direction, and decisions to team developing custom and off-the-shelf web applications and services
  • Works with Application/Enterprise Architects to establish development and deployment standards, and ensures adherence to technology platform decisions
  • Lead teams of multiple developers
  • Mentors and coaches team members related to architecture, design, development, build, deployment, and maintenance of systems
  • Troubleshoots and debugs complex issues, and identifies and implements solutions

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 8 years of Java Development Environment (JDE) experience
  • 2 years Application Programming Interface (API) framework / REST development
  • 2 years in web services (mid-range) development

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years technical leadership of IT personnel
  • Experience/Certification on maintenance of Kubernetes clusters
  • Airline experience including Sabre, business processes and supporting technologies

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Knowledge and Experience with Java EE, Spring Framework, Apache frameworks, SOA principles and patterns, Microservices architecture, REST/SOAP API, Messaging/Event processing frameworks
  • Knowledge of Front end technologies like Angular, Node JS, JavaScript , Web Components
  • Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (Github, Github Actions, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, TDD, Automated regression testing)
  • Experience with HW/SW resource management, cloud framework implementation, Kubernetes, IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with logging, monitoring and alerting tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Mezmo, Azure Data Explorer
  • Experience in service optimizations for performance
  • Experience in handling the security vulnerabilities and knowledge of data security best practices
  • Ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, to be delivered in a successful and timely manner
  • Demonstrated experience leading large scale projects, and well-rounded technical background in current data management technologies like Redis, PostgreSQL
  • Experience in Agile methodologies
