Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Produce Buyer to join our dynamic team in the Engineering industry. As a Produce Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing high-quality vegetable crops from farms across the country. You will work closely with our supply chain team to ensure that we have a consistent and reliable supply of fresh produce to meet the demands of our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with farmers and suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality produce.
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers to ensure that we are getting the best possible value for our products.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly to ensure that we are staying competitive in the industry.
  • Work closely with our supply chain team to ensure that all produce is delivered on time and in the correct quantities.
  • Collaborate with our sales team to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our customers and providing them with the best possible products.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure that we are maintaining appropriate stock levels at all times.
  • Conduct regular site visits to farms and suppliers to ensure that they are meeting our quality standards and to identify any potential issues.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in produce buying, preferably in the vegetable crops industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and purchasing processes.
  • Ability to travel as needed to visit farms and suppliers.
