The Engineering Program Manager will manage a continuous pipeline of new product and product optimization projects, to grow revenue, expand margin and add product value. This person will manage all aspects of multiple projects simultaneously, from idea to implementation, while leading teams to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame. This role is accountable for assigned projects' scope of work, schedule, and budget.


Requirements:

  • Utilize a gated project management process to plan and analyze assigned projects, establish schedules, actions and project parameters, and set procedures to accomplish objectives involving product initiatives.
  • Lead a cross functional project team comprised of engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and product management, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Provide project management process direction and support to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Utilize established project management tools to create and maintain project resource plans including labor and expense budget for assigned projects.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted business case at completion, and controlling expenses by monitoring assigned project budget.
  • Assess cross-functional resource requirements and proactively engage sponsors and functional leaders to fill resource gaps on a timely basis to ensure project success.
  • Create and revise risk based project schedules including: generating tasks, estimates, dependencies and milestones.
  • Maintain internal/external customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with project team and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of standard work and best practices to enable process continuous improvement.
  • Participate in ideation events to generate product improvement opportunities and assist in facilitating.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 5-7 years of experience with demonstrated cross functional participation or leadership.
  • Experience in resource planning and team building with engineers, manufacturing, supply chain, product management.
  • Proficient in project management techniques, software and tools.
  • Minimal travel to support projects and manufacturing sites.

  • Ability to lead multiple project teams simultaneously directly or indirectly through influence.
  • Persistence and tenacity to drive teams to meet or exceed project objectives of Delivery, Quality, Project & Product Cost.
  • Must have financial and business acumen and a proven history of completing projects on time and on budget.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to resolve conflict, to apply critical thinking to solve problems and to escalate when projects are at risk.
  • The individual should be analytical, flexible, team-oriented, have good interpersonal, communication and follow-up skills with a strong drive to bring projects/tasks to completion.
