CUMULUS MEDIA | MELBOURNE, FL is looking for a dynamic on-air personality to serve as the Midday Host for 107.1 WAOA-FM (CHR) based in Melbourne Florida. In addition, this individual will also serve as the Assistant Promotions Director, with promotion experience, that will hit the ground running and immediately contribute to the success of the Marketing/Promotion, Programming and Sales departments.

CUMULUS MEDIA | MELBOURNE, FL has three FM stations in the Melbourne, FL metro area: Country station 102.7 The Hit Kicker; Top 40 107.1 WAOA-FM; Classic Rock WROK-FM. Melbourne Florida and Brevard County is the largest county in the state, 72 miles along I-95 north and south on the coast. Its communities include Palm Bay, Melbourne, Melbourne Beach, Viera, Cocoa and Cocoa Beach, Port Canaveral, Cape Canaveral and Titusville. The Space Coast and our stations are a short drive to Orlando, Daytona Beach and West Palm. We launch rockets and ride the waves. It’s summer all year and our stations, programming and promotions reflect that.

Responsibilities – Midday On-Air Co-Host:

The midday responsibilities include but not limited to hosting shows that generate ratings by being entertaining, informative, community oriented and forwarding the brand. Must have a deep understanding of how to go beyond the latest news, headlines, and events to craft an entertaining and unique product. The candidate should be able to plan and produce a quality show, through creative ideas, segments, celebrity interviews and production elements. Daily commercial production is required As an ambassador for Cumulus, participation in station and client events/remotes, connecting with the community and our listeners, building a relationship with clients through the sales team and networking within the market are paramount. Candidates must have unparalleled passion, worth ethic, and drive.

Responsibilities – Assistant Promotions Director:

The Assistant Promotions Director is a high-energy position that requires someone who will take charge and make local station promotions and events successful time after time. This position is responsible for the planning, organization and execution of promotions, appearances and events for the Melbourne, Florida radio station cluster – WAOA, WHKR, WROK and WLZR.

• Creating and executing station and client on-air promotions, writing promotional proposals and recaps; maintaining an accurate and detailed calendar of upcoming appearances, contests, and other cluster events; coordinating street team staff, and appropriate paperwork to implement activities; implementing radio station half-off program, planning and execution of NTR events, preparing P&L’s for NTR events; posting of images/ video from various events/clients to station and social media sites, acts as a liaison between the Programming and Sales Departments to maximize revenue, ratings, and exposure.
• Effective communication to sales, programming, marketing, and on-air staff is a must. In addition, maintaining newsletters, promotional calendars, promotional inventory, promotional copy, and ensuring station integrity and FCC compliance through maintenance of contest rules.

• Produce a compelling radio show by using creativity, imagination, and exercise of independent professional judgment in writing, producing, interviewing, taping or broadcasting on-air content
• Great with phones/interacting with callers, interviewing artists/guests and hosting live events
• Daily social media engagement; website and digital content generation
• Participates in station Programming, Promotions, and Sales meetings and events
• Live Broadcasts and station appearances, whether paid or unpaid
• Voice/produce commercials as assigned

Qualifications:

• 3 + years of Full-Time On-Air experience with successful ratings history required
• Strong production skills and knowledge of Op X, VOX Pro/Adobe Audition and Audacity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking
• Strong knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations
• Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune daily with the local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on-air discussions
• Demonstrated upbeat personality, informative, entertaining and engaging on the air; able to relate to station audience
• Pleasant, charismatic and well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciation
• Demonstrated creativity and imagination
• Can work well in a team environment; collaborative
