Job Description


Hera Technologies, LLC (the "Company") is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join its team. The successful candidate will focus on reviewing and maintaining quality system policies and procedures and quality control processes. This position requires strong technical and analytical background coupled with good communication skills (written and oral) and an understanding of the aerospace industry. He/she must be familiar with a manufacturing environment, have working computer knowledge and be a self-starter who pays attention to detail and accuracy and take responsibility for their work.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually

Hours: 6:00AM to 2:30PM Monday through Friday

Reports to: Quality Manager

Location: 100% on site at 1055 E. Francis, Ontario, CA 91761


Essential Job Duties
(which include, but not limited to):

  • Review customers purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Serve as the Quality Assurance representative to the Materials Review Board (MRB) and manage the MRB process.
  • Ensure nonconforming material is isolated/quarantined from acceptable parts and is properly documented and controlled in accordance with Hera Quality procedures and work instructions.
  • Compile, write, and deliver training material on quality standards, practices, and activities.
  • Interface with machinists and production personnel related to his/her workmanship and determine if other quality issues exist.
  • Support of source inspection activities for various customers.
  • Ensure material products and processes (paint, anodize, chem-film, etc.) are applied in accordance with applicable drawings and specification requirements.
  • Generate and fill out AS9102 (FAI) and regular inspection reports.
  • Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations, interfacing with the Hera team as applicable.
  • Lead Process flow definition and improvement activities.
  • Lead other improvement activities as needed using Quality Improvement toolbox (such as DMAIC, PDCA, etc.)
  • Interface with customers on complaints & returns, and on customer corrective action requests.
  • Maintain Approved Supplier List
  • Review job travelers for compliance to customer blueprint and purchase orders.
  • Support Inspection activities, including mylar inspection.
  • Maintain Calibration log and review certifications for compliance to requirements.
  • Learn to and perform cross-functional operations.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of Inspection/Quality experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to interpret drawings including GD&T.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize inspection duties.
  • Must be able and willing to work with others in a fast-changing environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with mechanical measuring tools including, but not limited to micrometers, calipers, scales, pin and radius gages, height gage, surface finish comparator, dial indicator, etc.
  • Working knowledge of CMM data and geometry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English.
  • Ability to learn to perform cross-functional operations.

Work authorization and Clearances:

  • Must be US Citizen or Authorized to work in the US
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass a criminal background check
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination, including an alcohol and drug test.


Work environment:

  • Most of the work hours are in an air-conditioned open office with an assigned cubicle and comfortable seating; will require walk-throughs in the production area which is not air-conditioned, is noisy, and requires safety protocols.
  • The incumbent will spend a portion of the day on their feet and must follow strict safety rules. They wear safety glasses to protect their eyes from airborne debris. Loud noise from machinery requires use of hearing protectors. They wear hard toe shoes or boots to protect their feet from potentially dropped objects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely lift at least 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to navigate warehouse and use hands and arms to reach, feel or handle items both high and low.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
  • Sit, Stoop, Kneel and Crouch.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include- near vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
