POSITION SUMMARY:

The Regional Director of Specialty Pharmacy Operations will oversee the operations and financial performance of all assigned client site specialty pharmacy teams. They will be responsible for overall performance of all client site programs within an assigned region, and support Site Directors with ensuring that all client goals are met with a high standard of excellence, urgency, and predictability. They will support the VP, Client Strategy and Services with achieving all client site goals and service standards, interface with executive level leadership at clients, support team building, and staff development.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
  • Direct oversight of client site specialty pharmacy operations leadership teams for all designated hospital system partners, with accountability for P&L and operational performance
  • Provides leadership and day-to-day performance management support and accountability to all dedicated client staff - Directors of Specialty Pharmacy (CHS Site Directors) and their local staff (Managers of Specialty Operations, Pharmacists, Liaison and others)
  • Responsible for all performance measures for regional clients in aggregate and by client, including but not limited to total revenue, growth, patient enrollment in programs, margin, and budget management.
  • Develops a deep understanding of the health system environment and able to achieve objectives by developing relationships with executive and all other levels of staff to navigate roadblocks and challenges to program success
  • Proactively identifies and implements operational efficiencies and standardization, provides feedback and solutions for improving efficiencies company wide across all other client sites as needed
  • Ensures the successful execution of all strategies and initiatives by Site Directors designed to meet company and client goals with a high standard of excellence, urgency, and predictability, supporting by removing obstacles, bringing resources to support success
  • Works closely with the Client Development and Client Success team by ensuring high client satisfaction, addressing client concerns effectively and developing solutions as necessary
  • Will effectively translate client and corporate strategic developments into operational functions independently through their deep understanding of client systems, and able to provide meaningful feedback when adjustments should be made
  • High degree of focus on ensuring exceptional patient service delivery is achieved at client sites that meet the expectations and requirements of all necessary accreditation and compliance
  • Proactively engages corporate support functions to optimize performance at client sites including but not limited to: Corporate operations, centralized support center, implementation team, and other SMEs and corporate departments
  • Develops a deep understanding of challenges health systems face and creatively identifies way in which the specialty pharmacy can assist in resolving these clinical and financial challenges
  • Participates in interviewing, hiring, orientation, onboarding, and recurring training of staff as needed to support on-site client leadership staff
  • Creates a great work environment and inspires teamwork and partnership at all levels
  • Ability to influence others without formal authority, can drive change management at client sites
  • Understands and articulates region's market trends, market changes and evolving competitive landscape, including but not limited to local payor markets and drug access
  • Working knowledge of and adherence to all applicable state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to board of pharmacy regulations, local, state and federal regulations for their assigned client sites
  • Ensure staff training and compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to board of pharmacy regulations, local, state and federal regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Licensed pharmacist preferred but not required

EXPERIENCE:
  • 7-10+ years of experience leading large diverse and remote teams across several clients or sites, with high degree of understanding of the health system space
  • Strong background in operations with P&L experience over multiple business units or client sites
  • Private consulting or professional services experience strongly desired

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and 340B or ability to quickly learn such knowledge
  • Strong network of industry leaders and analysts preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a high degree of analytical ability, and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external customers.
