Position Summary:

The Risk Manager will be responsible for the analytical and administrative execution of Ingersoll Rand’s risk management and insurance programs. You will collaborate with various internal departments, insurance brokers, and third-party administrators to support and facilitate effective risk management insurance policies and programs for the company. This is a hands-on role that requires a significant amount of collaboration with stakeholders in the company, and collaboration with, and vendor management of, our third-party broker.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage the insurance renewal process, including exposure gathering (statement of values, payroll, revenues, headcount, miles driven), completion of applications, coordination of insurer/broker meetings, receipt and filing of binders and policies.
  • Primary point of contact for general insurance questions including requests from the field, vendors, commercial teams or landlords for new or updated certificates of insurance (based on contractual requirements).
  • Oversee the process to review insurance provisions in contracts, leases and other agreements and request required documentation from insurance broker.
  • Administer and monitor for compliance insurance filings required for State and Federal governments.
  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and controlling the company's risks by running reports to analyze loss and exposure information, and share important findings with executive leaders.
  • Manage the accurate and timely payment of insurance premiums, assessments, and fees.
  • Assist in the claims management process, including reporting, information gathering, and follow-up.
  • Interface with internal departments (Finance, Safety, Legal, Human Resources, Compliance and IR Business Units) and insurance broker, carriers, third-party administrators, and state insurance commissions.
  • Deliver insurance training for IR colleagues (auto liability, workers compensation, property, etc.)
  • Assist in administration of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) processes, meetings, and deliverables.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
  • 5+ years of risk management or insurance industry experience or other relevant finance experience.
  • Proficiency with Windows applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated success in creating an environment of trust with business partners where integrity is unquestioned.
  • Interpersonal, influencing and communications skills.
  • Self-starter with a bias for action and comfortable being self-sufficient.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel periodically (~10-15%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field.
  • Experience working as an Account Manager for a major insurance broker.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new software and other applications.
  • Strong aptitude for understanding and analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources.
  • Ability to produce unambiguous, comprehensive and accurate interpretations.
