Job Description

Miltec UV is seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer with solid project management skills to join their team in Stevensville, Maryland! This individual will design, develop and validate UV Curing components, products and systems.


Summary: The Senior Mechanical Engineer will have knowledge and experience in electro-mechanical design and packaging in support of new and existing UV product lines. Must be a hands-on problem solver with a demonstrated leadership aptitude and ability to work well in a team environment and support our customers.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Design, develop, and validate UV Curing components, products, and systems based on customer requirements, pertinent Agency standards, Design for Manufacturing (DFM) considerations, target profit margins, and good engineering practices.


Develop Product Requirement Documents in collaboration with Sales, Manufacturing, Field Service, and our customers.


Build complete project plans for new product development activities, including schedules and estimates for both unit costs and non-recurring engineering costs.


Serve as Project Manager for the duration of the new product development activities.


Provide guidance and supervision for less experienced engineers as required.


Apply engineering fundamentals to solve complex design problems.


Use industry-standard guidelines to develop sheet metal, machined, extruded, cast, welded, molded, chemically machined, and thermoformed components which result in cost-competitive products that meet customer’s requirements.


Create project documentation as directed, including drawings (assembly and detail), BOMs, schematics, wiring diagrams, user manuals, test plans, and test reports.


Work closely with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Field Service to facilitate the production, testing, and commissioning of UV Curing products.


Work with manufacturing, quality, service and purchasing to evaluate and correct product issues.


Create and implement test plans to document performance of Miltec products.


Travel as required (approximately 10% domestic and 5% international)


Operate in accordance with Company's Quality Management System and practice safety at all times.


Requirements:


Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred).


Minimum 7-8 years’ experience.


SolidWorks proficiency and proficiency in 3D CAD software to create models and documentation.


Proficient in MS Project software to guide development activities.


Proficient in MS Office.


Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills - must be able to present internally and to customers.


Must be able to interact and work well with various types of individuals at all levels across departments.


Ability to think critically with good logic and reasoning – identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions and recommend alternative approaches to problems.


Self-motivated and self-reliant, focused, open-minded, amiable and flexible.


Strong working knowledge of electrical and electronic systems/components.


Above average technical problem-solving skills.


Strong testing, analytical and documentation skills.


Experience with industrial equipment is a plus.


Experience with high voltage equipment is a plus.


RF experience is a plus.


Ability to travel as needed.
