Job Summary

Charles River's marketing department is looking for a highly creative Senior Multimedia Designer. This position would be responsible for supporting the creative strategy and execution of digital and offline marketing materials that align with Charles River's strategic marketing and communications goals. The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded design skillset with experience developing assets for a range of visual mediums including websites/digital properties, video, social media, email, print, presentations and other digital and traditional content formats and channels. Leading with a digital-first mindset, the senior multimedia designer will coordinate and implement design projects from concept to delivery, ensuring business objectives are creatively met, top quality work is delivered, and visual brand standards are adhered to.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and recommend creative ideas that deliver on strategic goals.
  • Conceptualize, develop and produce design solutions that meet business goals across a range of visual mediums and tactics, including but not limited to: websites, social media, email, video, static and rich banner ads, data visualization/infographics, digital assessment tools, and traditional/print channels and tactics.
  • Collaborate with internal Design Team on workflow, assignments, best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal Marketing, Content and Digital teams to understand marketing goals, requirements and audience needs/behaviors and translate into effective design solutions.
  • Own the design process for assigned projects from concept to final execution, ensuring quality and managing to deadlines.
  • Create and deliver thoughtful design presentations that meet strategic marketing objectives.
  • Navigate and respond to creative feedback throughout the review process while maintaining creative standards and best practices.
  • Assist in management of brand standards including logos, color palettes, typography, brand elements, and guidelines for how the visual brand should be used.
  • Act as a steward of the visual brand and reinforce best practices related to the Charles River brand.
  • Ensure consistency of brand and creative across digital and offline touch points.
  • Stay current on the latest visual design, social and digital trends and consumer behavior/preferences to influence creative strategy and recommendations.
  • In collaboration with internal teams, leverage data and analytics to optimize design approaches based on response. conversion rates and qualitative research.
  • Other duties as required.

Job Qualifications

  • 6+ year's design experience preferably in an agency or in-house environment.
  • Experience designing for global brands.
  • Advanced level knowledge in Adobe CC.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to communicate clearly and quickly to a wide audience of stakeholders and situations.
  • Must be able to problem-solve and think of creative solutions for customer pain points to better suit the customer's needs.
  • Ability to successfully multitask and prioritize among running projects.
  • Capacity to work independently, self-manage, and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $70K - $85K. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
