The Deets (what you'll be expected to do in the job)

  • Responsible for the quality, food safety and sanitation, and timeliness of dishes served
  • Assist in the training, development and coaching of culinary team
  • Engage with vendors and place routine orders to ensure adequate and fresh product is in stock to meet demands of the restaurant
  • Complete monthly inventory counts
  • Act as a liaison between front and back of houses to unite departments and grow a cohesive team culture
  • Manage labor and food costs according to budgeted goals
  • Write team schedules when needed
  • Responsible for being well-acquainted with all menu items, recipes, plating guidelines, and sanitation/basic safety information
  • Prepares food for service using knives, ovens, gas stoves, broiler, griddles
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work station and working area

Minimum Qualifications

  • Related experience in a high-volume restaurant or brewpub.
  • Proven ability to communicate with, train & lead others in a respectful and effective manner.
  • Current food safety knowledge and valid Food Handler Card at time of hire.
  • Basic computer skills (preferably with Microsoft Office, Toast POS, HotSchedules).
  • Ability to approach each day with a positive, safety & solution-focused work ethic.
  • Solid ability to multi-task and stay organized.
  • Physical requirements - must be able to stand and move around a kitchen for up to 8 hours; lift and carry up to 50lbs.
