JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Library Director, the Special Collections Cataloging and Metadata Librarian manages cataloging and metadata activities to enhance discovery of and access to the Winterthur Library’s rich multimedia collections. The Special Collections Cataloging and Metadata Librarian creates records for scholarly and special collection items in a wide range of formats and languages in Winterthur’s integrated library system, Virtua, and in OCLC WorldCat according to best practices and standards, and contributes to initiatives to review, enhance, and/or remediate descriptive information.
Compensation: $58,000 - $65,000 annually

Minimum Experience: Master’s degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA accredited program, or equivalent degree with experience and/or training that specifically addresses the skills required for the position. Three years professional experience performing original cataloging of rare and unique materials in a range of formats
Preferred Experience: In addition to minimum education requirements, educational training or experience in subject area related to Winterthur’s collections, including history, American studies, art history, English, or related field with five years professional experience performing original cataloging of rare and unique materials in a range of formats, with progressive levels of experience; supervisory experience
