Job Description
- High school or equivalent diploma or 12+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience in criminal/military intelligence analysis, cyber fraud, asset protection, audit, risk management, OSINT, or other related fields
- 8+ years of investigative experience identifying, resolving, conducting root cause analysis, and recommending mitigation enhancements.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Experience in Loss Prevention or Cyber Security
- Experience with investigative case file building and law enforcement presentations
- Experience with Lexis Nexis, IBM i2 Analyst Notebook (or link analysis), MS Office Professional Suite, including knowledge of Excel
- Experience building presentations and presenting training to large groups both in person and virtually
- Experience in project management establishing KPI’s and finding new stakeholders to support
- Advanced experience data analytics to include SQL queries
The Senior Program Manager of Advanced Investigations & Development Team (1st AID) will lead team efforts to efficiently and effectively provide proactive investigation and resolution services pertaining to the protection of people, product and data for Amazon. This leader will be responsible for hiring and developing an Investigative support team to support Amazon Strategic Investigative Solutions, Loss Prevention (LP) programs and investigations, while driving profitability through shrink improvement. The role is responsible for developing the investigative strategy for all investigative matters within Amazon for AMER with partnership support to global investigation teams and provides leadership, strategic direction and career development for their area of responsibility and team. The work is both tactical and operationally focused on larger goals where the strategy is already defined, and strategic - where optimization of procedures, processes, and best practices is required. This role will identify and develop innovative technology requirements, methods and mechanisms to maximize efficiencies and best practices across the enterprise. In addition, they will provide oversight and project management to implemented programs. The Senior Program Manager of 1st AID will be a key member of the Loss Prevention team. This position will report to the Senior Manager – E commerce, Risk, Investigations and Enforcement, Strategic Investigative Solutions, Loss Prevention, Global Security Operations.
Key job responsibilities
- Supports development and implementation of a company-wide LP investigative program
- Identifies and creates internal reporting, data analysis and brand risk or vulnerabilities
- Develops and pursues investigative strategy detailing investigative plans to facilitate case resolution at the appropriate scope and pace
- Develops and implements strategies to mitigate loss while minimizing customer and operational impacts
- Develops and maintains positive field-based relationships with Law Enforcement at local, state, and federal levels
- Builds and fosters relationships with internal and external business partners
- Serves as the investigative subject matter expert for bad actor groups and schemes investigations, keeping abreast of key issues and strategies
- Manages multiple investigations simultaneously and prioritize resources accordingly
- Identifies and develops appropriate reporting methods and mechanisms to maximize efficiencies and best practices across the enterprise
- Leads and mentors team members as needed
- Network with Organized Retail Crime (ORC) task forces and industry professionals
A day in the life
As the Senior Program Manager for 1st AID you will be responsible for leading the investigative team, providing direction and oversight throughout the investigative process. You will participate and/or lead workgroup calls involving the investigative space. These calls can range in topics from case sharing, new work stream identification, cultivating stakeholder relationships, case triage and review as well as any other range of topics relating to the position. The Sr PM will also take on high level cases as the lead investigator working to become a subject matter expert (SME) for the ERIE team.
About the team
The Advance Investigations & Development Team (1st AID) is an investigative group that is takes proactive approach to identify bad actors who defraud Amazon or are teaching others how to commit fraud against the company. We identify bad actors through OSINT searches and collaborating with our internal teams to discover their financial impact. This team works hand in hand with multiple stakeholders building an MO library for field investigators to reference. We also collaborate with other teams on ASIST to develop a quarterly newsletter and on-site training for field LP to further develop their investigative skills and bad actor identification.
- Financial Crimes and Loss Prevention certifications such as LPQ, LPC, CFE, CAMS, and CFCI
- Previous Special Investigation Unit (SIU) experience or Threat Intelligence Analysis
- Working knowledge of e-commerce industry theft and fraud investigations
- Interview and Interrogation certification such as Wicklander-Zulawski
- Knowledge of theft schemes relating to Fulfillment, Logistics, Retail and investigative methods and applicable statutory laws and regulations
- Experience leading teams and providing management, leadership, and mentoring to team members as needed
- Warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution experience
- Oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to influence others internally and externally
- Knowledge of Amazon systems and fulfillment center processes
