Would you like to be responsible for the maintenance and well-being of the horses and livestock and care for Guests’ animals at the Disneyland Resort?
As a Stable Attendant, you could work in both Norco and Anaheim, California with responsibilities including the feeding, cleaning and exercising of the animals. You would be responsible for the safety of the Guests, Cast and animals and of course, creating magical experiences for Park Guests!
As a Stable Attendant, depending on your shift on any given day you might:
- Perform basic care for Guests’ animals by providing watering and clean cages and yard area after each use;
- Create magical experiences for Guests and Cast Members;
- Answer Guest questions and provide directions/event information and other services;
- Feed, provide care, exercise, and groom horses and exotic animals (by the way, grooming horses includes picking up and cleaning out the hooves of each horse every day);
- Operate a tractor or a truck and trailer (training provided);
- Occasionally pull and maneuver 25-50 lb. bales of hay (did you know some bales may weigh up to 120 lbs and need to be rolled or tipped into a wagon?);
- Maintain the grounds by sweeping and raking;
- Be responsible for all things equine which includes daily feeding of a variety of draft horses, harnessing for Main Street, U.S.A., and keeping all equipment clean and in good working order;
- Administer medications and medical treatments to animals and assess the animals for signs of injury or illness;
- Work with hay, dust, wood shavings, grains, and a variety of domestic and exotic animals.
Here’s what you will need to be successful in the job:
- You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role.
- Must have a valid CA Driver License.
- Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events.
It would be a plus if you also have these skills:
- Previous experience working with large animals such as horses, sheep, cows, and goats.
- Bilingual preferred.
The pay rate for this role in California is $17.30 per hour.
SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am. Please note that the principles of seniority are used to schedule all roles.
