Staff Accountant – (REMOTE)

We are seeking an energetic and talented Staff Accountant to join our growing team and report to the Controller. If you're highly motivated, passionate about accounting, and eager to join a fast-growing health tech start-up focused on making a difference for patients, then we would love to meet you!

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with payroll system implementation.

  • Assist with payroll processing as needed.

  • Process vendor invoices, make payments, and ensure proper recording in the financial statements.

  • Review credit card transactions to ensure they are within the expense policy and record to the correct general ledger account.

  • Reconcile payroll and benefit general ledger accounts monthly.

  • Ensure compliance with assigned KPIs and payroll due dates.

  • Prepare and post biweekly (hourly) and monthly (salaried) payroll journal entries.

  • Prepare and post payroll and benefit accruals as needed.

  • Collaborate with third-party vendors, and various benefit vendors as needed to ensure accurate and timely recording into the financial statements.

  • Assist with sales tax compliance and reconciliation of sales tax between systems and the general ledger.

  • Assist with business registrations and working with CSC Global for renewal and new registrations.

  • Provide variance analysis and reporting each month and work with the accounting team and finance team to report the monthly financial package.

  • Assist with customer billing monthly.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (primarily Excel)

  • Able to adapt to change and learn quickly, work independently and cross-functionally, and prioritize work to achieve objectives and timelines

  • Well organized with meticulous attention to detail

  • Proactive in finding discrepancies and their resolution

  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal

  • Experience working within a remote/distributed team environment is a plus

  • Quick and deep learner

  • Driven to make a difference
