Position in this function partners to create and review Summary Plan Description (SPD) documents. Collects data to prepare documents, drafts and proofs documents, manages the review process until approval, and assists with the overall project management of SPDs.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Broadly, this role supports our ability to scale and speed to delivery of SPDs for the ASO market segment
  • Assist with SPD template design and maintenance
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of SPD delivery
  • Creation and quality control over SPDs
  • Partner with project implementation managers and account partners to produce high-quality documentation within the implementation timelines
  • Assist with customization of SPDs for new and renewing clients
  • Respond to SPD feedback and questions
  • Update documentation of SPD review process and flow
  • Maintain tracking of SPD statuses and metrics

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience drafting, reviewing, editing and managing SPDs (Summary Plan Descriptions)
  • Healthcare insurance experience
  • Experience using various approaches to collect, analyze and validate information
  • Experience handling confidential information with discretion
  • Proven experience performing multiple concurrent projects with firm deadlines
  • Working knowledge of health insurance principles and terminology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Demonstrated proficiency with attention to details
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and maintain a high level of initiative
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build relationships at all levels of the organization

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
