Earn a career-worthy wage at a fun 10-week Day Camp! Play with awesome local kids in the beautiful Los Gatos Mountains on our private forest property. We hire and train new camp counselors (Mentors) each summer to work with our experienced staff.

You will be trained to mentor kids in fun forest adventures, and wooden toy making!

• No overnights, and no required work on your summer weekends! (And after work it is a short drive to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk). Most work shifts will end between 2:15pm to 3:15pm daily. So staff can have an epic California summer every afternoon and on all weekends.
• This job is located in the cool California coastal mountains just 10-minutes from the town of Los Gatos, and half-way to Santa Cruz.
• Apply to begin work on June 5 or 9th, until August 11 or 18th, 2023.
• Plus get a July 1-9 holiday vacation break to have time with your family and friends!
• Paid Staff Training dates will be either on June 8 or 9 Thursday-Friday, (or on the previous weekend of June 3 or 4th, if you are available).
• END-of-Summer-BONUS!! All of our employees who work the 10 entire camp weeks will qualify to earn a bonus of $50 to $100 per week. Getting a $1,000. bonus is comparable to being paid an extra $3 per hour all summer!
• The 2023 base pay is $18 to $20 per hour, and a competitive higher pay of $21 to $32 per hour for Camp Directors, the Maintenance Technicians, the area Staff Directors, and credentialed teachers.
• This fun job is 27 to 39 hours per week for 10 weeks. Get more hours if you are a quick learner. Earn up to $5,000 to over $9,000 every summer!
• We also are hiring a 9-month "Maintenance Technician/Treehouse Carpenter" just on weekends, through mid-November each year, (and with possible housing options). The maintenance position can optionally include summer camp work, which would be a total of up to 39 hours per week during summer.

Qualifications:

• Must be age 17+. (Basically 90% of our staff are college students).
• This is also a great summer job for retired school teachers or woodworkers.
• Great if you have experience with children.
• Must have excellent situational awareness while supervising children.
• Be patient and reliable.
• Make sure all safety rules are followed.
• Ensure that campers respect nature.
• Must have an energetic and positive personality.
• Trainable in fun outdoor games and crafts.
• Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds if needed.
• Ability to walk with kids up steep hills in our Forest Adventure Park.
• All staff will need reliable transportation, or join a carpool with other staff.
