JOB DESCRIPTION: Supervisor - Regional Simulator Training Center

FLSA STAUS: EXEMPT

REPORT TO: DIRECTOR OF TRAINING


The Supervisor of our Regional Simulator Training Center has a direct impact on our Airlines' growth by working with Check Airman, flight instructors, and our director of training ensuring that early-stage training for pilots is scheduled, progressing well, and records retained properly
.


The supervisor must be both ground instructor and simulator instructor, with appropriate knowledge, experience and training, and demonstrated ability to instruct various personnel in assigned curriculum segments. This position is not an FAA required position under FAR 119. However, FAR 135 requires the Company to have adequate ground instructors for its operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Director of Training to ensure departmental goals, policies, and procedures are current and reflect operational needs.
  • Conduct instruction as scheduled by the training department for initial, upgrading, transitioning pilots.
  • Follow the approved training syllabi.
  • All lesson plans must be accepted by the Director of Training.
  • Strictly adhere to all times set forth in the program.
  • Provide breaks during training.
  • Properly and completely fill out all training forms as appropriate to the segment(s) of training taught. Verify training records are accurately completely and timely submitted.
  • Promptly forward all forms and documentation to the Director of Training subsequent to any training.
  • Inform the Director of Training of any known inadequacies or ambiguities in the training program.
  • Report any training problems relevant to a trainee to the Director of Training or the Director of Operations in the absence of the Director of Training.
  • Remain responsible to the Training Department while serving in training capacities.
  • Identify and mentor pilots with the skills to join the training department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Training and the Director of Operations.


Requirements for the position:

  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience with at least 10,000 hours PIC time.
  • ATP
  • FAA commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating or airline transport pilot certificate.
  • Minimum of 750 TT in Caravan 208
  • Working knowledge of FAR part 61, 91 and 135.
  • G-1000 proficiency across multiple aircraft types
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain strong student orientation under adverse circumstances.
  • Strong focus on quality with a continuous drive towards process improvement & student satisfaction.
  • Ability to concentrate and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Readily accept changes and adjust accordingly.
  • Basic computer proficiency- Microsoft office and other internet based programs.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen per airline regulations.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986.


Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time, up to 12 hours a day.
  • Must be able to work in dark confined spaces, like an aircraft simulator.
  • Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform duties.
