We are responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Within CO+I, the strategic Supply Chain team is responsible for establishing a supply chain that can meet the ever-growing growth of the Microsoft Cloud and our customers. We support a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-billion, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects and operations of those assets. We are looking to fill a critical role of Supply Chain New Product Introduction Director.

Special Projects/Programs and Initiatives Advisor
  • Drives cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and to manage complex business needs. Leads project/program management to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts that require hands-on coordination across multiple disciplines and business organizations. Leads strategic innovation and experimentation. Creates clarity on ambiguous projects and develops plan for execution.

Contracting and Negotiations

  • Provides high-level negotiation and sets standards across organizations and company. Addresses unresolved or broadly impactful escalations related to pricing and category management issues, and proactively develops New Product Introduction (NPI) strategies to evaluate and drive change in processes broadly across the organization, as needed to ensure teams and/or partners adopt processes that improve the pricing and procurement of goods and services across Microsoft. Manages price and procurement requests and complex pricing issues across purchasing categories to ensure procedural compliance.
  • Provides guidance and clarification on contract execution processes for consistency, accuracy, and timeliness across Microsoft. Provides thought leadership and shares best practices on established methodologies to ensure they are aligned with and influence current and anticipated business outcomes, both internally and externally. Drives accountability for resolving escalated contract delivery issues and monitoring the impact of change orders on contracting, and delivers briefings to executive leadership detailing current and projected sourcing contract execution models, anticipated risks, impact models, and contingency plans.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Oversees and leads the New Product Introduction (NPI) pricing and negotiation strategies for the most complex and strategic purchasing categories, develops business groups for optimal cross-functional stakeholder support and business assurance, and broadly fosters internal and external partnerships to negotiate strategic decisions and produce deliverables. Drives consensus in the goals and success criteria with stakeholders both internal and external to Microsoft, shares thought leadership and socializes best practices related to negotiation and collaboration to enable teams to execute negotiations with consistent success.
  • Considers broad enterprise engagement opportunities and future supplier and partner innovations, to further optimize for value.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 9+ years experience (including internships) in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations
    • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 7+ years experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5 + years people management experience
  • Driving New Product Introduction (NPI) sourcing strategy and supply chain execution for multiple categories and experience implementing new processes to get buy in from a cross functional team.
  • 7+ years’ post graduate construction, supply chain or procurement experience specifically with large complex Capital Projects
  • Able to travel up to 25%, globally
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 11+ years experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations
    • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 9+ years experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of data center industry and experience managing a variety of project delivery methods - ability to lead a project team in defining risk and developing the appropriate contracting and compensation approach.
  • Technical ability to write contracts, ability to set up sourcing plans and negotiation strategies and execute them.
  • Excellent communicator that can interact with diverse groups across organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with common process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six-Sigma, etc.) and ability to facilitate change management.
  • Able to drive sourcing strategy and supply chain execution for multiple categories
  • Able to integrate successfully into large-scale construction and lease projects - sourcing, managing and administering contracts large dollar contracts of over $400Million
  • Supply Chain Team development: leading teams of five or more on project oversight and professional development.

Sourcing and Category Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $292,200 per year.
