The Senior Accounting Assistant will perform accounting and administrative duties in support of the Controller's Office. The Lehigh community takes seriously our commitment to antiracism and The Principles of our Equitable Community.

1. Perform accounting and administrative duties as part of the Shared Services team in support of the Controller's Office
  • Process daily interface to Banner Finance feeds, system uploads
  • Review and prepare daily online reallocation process
  • Analyze transactions and prepare correcting entries when needed
  • Accounting data entry and diagnostic review
  • Establish and process Banner Finance Access inquiries
  • Support Shared Services team duties in all areas
  • Maintain index - attribute maintenance
  • Provide campus user support
2. Provide administrative support directly to Controller’s Office leadership, exercising confidentiality, tact and diplomacy day-to-day office activities
  • Assist with job searches/hiring – review applicants, assist the search committee, assist with new hire and onboarding paperwork
  • Use MS Office applications to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc.; may prepare responses to correspondence and inquiries
  • Screen and direct telephone calls; receives and directs visitors
  • Screen and process mail
  • Ensure phone, in-person, e-mail and other inquiries are addressed and resolved in a thorough and timely manner
  • Compose and edit correspondence, memoranda and other documents
  • Prepare and produce various custom and/or specialized reports as required
  • Create graphs, charts and presentations using established content
  • Organize and maintains area files/records and paperwork

Grade: 7-37.5; $35,030 - $42,060

Qualifications

High school diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience; Associates Degree preferred

Three to five years related work experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail

Solid analytical and decision-making skills

Flexible and responsive, with the ability to juggle competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Excellent computer skills with experience using word processing, spreadsheet and database software

Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
