Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Developer V (LIMS Administrator). This position is in Pueblo, CO.



Responsible candidate is to lead system design, development and implementation of advanced process solutions in support of the PCAPP and BGCAPP chemical Demil missions. The candidate shall identify system requirements, analyze systems options, and designs and implements complex computer-based information systems. In addition, the candidate will communicate determination of needs, enhancements, implementation, maintenance and cyber requirements to internal and external team members.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and coordinates system identification, design, develop, testing and implementation strategies for the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Develops complex system architecture and analytics that sets and maintains the strategic execution strategy for the laboratory information technology group using the latest available industry standards.
  • Assesses system design and provides technical leadership for adaption, integration or customization of enterprise deployable products for use at PCAPP within the client system.
  • Leads and develops functional needs via specifications documents, design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation and documentation (e.g. rigorous software validation, testing, and configuration management).
  • Leads, develops and provides technical recommendation to the customer to facilitate full integration into their system infrastructure while maintaining cyber security elements.
  • Coordinates implementation and follow-up of assigned tasks which includes installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of custom programming solutions to all core database applications.
  • PrLeads and develops strategies for laboratory information technology team to implement and/or abridge COTS and custom system designs into PCAPP custom systems and architecture.
  • Leads completion of assigned projects within time and/or budget constraints and communicates outcomes to laboratory management.
  • Communicates and advises CIT on software development methodologies where product adaptation can be integrated into Battelle’s development practices or process, as applicable.

Key Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Systems or equivalent. Minimum of ten (10) years related experience and ability to provide leadership and direct a project team.
  • Demonstrated experience in relational database management such as MySQL, PostgreSQL Microsoft SQL or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated programming experience using SQL, JavaScript, Java, C#, C++, Pytohon, IOS/Swift or equivalent required.
  • Design experience in VS.NET, ASP.NET, DevExpress, or equivalent programming user interface environments desired.


Additional selection and retention criteria will include the ability to:

  • Successfully pass medical screen, including the ability to wear a respirator and other PPE, lift up to 50 lbs-may involve work in close proximity of toxic chemicals.
  • Must be a US Citizen. The applicant selected will be subject to a national agency check security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to be placed in a Public Trust Position.
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities. This position may be required to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and on-call.
  • Interact effectively with government and contractor personnel thru written correspondence or verbal communication.
  • PCAPP is subject to Army Regulations (AR50-6 Chemical Surety Program and AR190-59 Unescorted Access Program) which govern persons performing work under the Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (CPRP) and Unescorted Access Program (UAP). Eligibility to be placed in a CPRP or UAP position requires US citizenship. Employees must favorably complete a series of screenings to include but not limited to: a National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) security investigation, drug/alcohol testing and medical examination.
  • PCAPP operates on a 24/7 schedule. This position may be required to work a schedule of rotating shifts including nights, weekends or holidays. All employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of continued employment for the duration of their assignment. Respiratory screening and the ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) may be required for this position. The ability to obtain/maintain access to the Pueblo Chemical Depot is required.

Salary

Salary: $117,000.00 – $171,000.00 a year
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
