The
Behavior Support Specialist will assist in data collection and assessment for behavior support services; assist in developing, implementing, and training staff in the use of positive behavior support and intervention techniques. This is a promotional/open opportunity open to interested candidates. This recruitment will be used to establish an Eligibility List for the current Behavior Support Specialist vacancy as well as any future vacancies.
This list will be active for three (3) months with the possibility to be extended.
There are currently two 35-hours-per-week, 10-month-per-year vacancies with the Behavior Support Services Department, located at 4100 Normal Street, San Diego, CA 92103.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to completion of college-level courses in psychology, special education, or related field, and three (3) years of related experience.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided). Personality and character traits suited to providing services for students with serious behavior challenges. Some positions may require proficiency in a foreign language and/or sign language.
