Job Description

Bridge 2 Hope is seeking a Community Organizer/Mobilizer who is passionate about building a movement to disrupt the status quo that is being experienced by Black and Brown families with the St. Louis education system.

The ideal candidate will support our mission of training parents from under-resourced communities on the ways that they can advocate for schools and classrooms where:

  • Every child has access to an education that offers them choices and pathways that allows them to maximize their full potential.

Bridge 2 Hope is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to disrupting education inequities. We do this by building parents’ ability to fight inequitable systems and policies in education.


What You’ll Do

The Organizer, who reports directly to the Lead Organizer, is responsible for the following:

  • Developing relationships with families who are a part of the St. Louis education system,
  • Cultivating opportunities for families to use their voice and power,
  • Identifying ways to connect with new organizations to build the Bridge 2 Hope network, and
  • Overseeing consistent and accurate data collection of attendance tracking.

  • Organization and Data Skills: You recognize the need to track data to show the outcomes and impacts of Bridge 2 Hope’s efforts. Your comfort with data and technology allows you to review collected data to identify trends and adjust your efforts as needed.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn how to be an effective organizer is necessary for success in this role.

If You Were In This Role Right Now You Would BE

  • Having 1:1 conversations with prior Parent Academy cohort graduates to cultivate opportunities for them to use their voice and power,
  • Consistently finding and connecting with 25 new parents each week,
  • Working to ensure that there is a steady turnout at all Bridge 2 Hope hosted events, and
  • Collecting and inputting attendance data within the centralized Bridge 2 Hope tracking database.

The position is a part-time position compensated at $18 per hour with the expectation that Organizers complete 25 hours per week. Individuals who are successful in this role may be invited to be in a full-time position. The role requires occasional evening and weekend availability.
